George B. B. Wright Reservation
The Wright Reservation was initially created
through the purchase of a 31-Acre parcel in 1968. It has since been added to,bringing its
total area to 110 Acres. The trail system is not extensive, but the diversity of plant
life is significant. A nurseryman, George Benjamin Barrett Wright, who, in addition to
local specimens, planted many unusual species of trees and flowering plants on the site,
owned the property. Among them are magnolias, wisteria, and other species from different
parts of the United States and the world. The site is also bisected by Putnam Brook, which
is bridged on one of the trails. Putnam Brook supports some of the wetlands found at the
Reservation.
The trailsign is located 1 mile South of
Chelmsford Center, at the corner of Acton Road (Rte. 27) and Parker Road.
