Candidates have until 5:00 p.m. on March 1 to object or withdraw. 

Candidates wishing to withdraw must submit a notarized request to have their name withdrawn from the ballot.

 

On March 1, at 5:05 pm, drawing for ballot position will take place at the Office of the Town Clerk.

 

 

Please note: Due to the re-districting of precincts, all Town Meeting Members’ seats will expire in 2012.  On the ballot, there will be 18 seats per precinct.  Per Town Charter Section 2-4: “The first third in order of votes received shall serve for three years; the second third of such order shall serve for two years and the remaining third in such order shall serve for one year from the date of the annual town election.” 

 

Town Wide Candidates must remember that before incurring any expenses or receiving any funds they must file a Statement of Organization and may also wish to visit http://www.mass.gov/ocpf/      for further information.  Kindly be aware that you have an obligation to file the necessary paperwork with the Clerk’s Office.

 

 

Your first OCPF report is due 8 days before the election, which falls on Monday, March 26, 2012.  This period   covers all activity from January 1, 2012 to March 16, 2012.    Your second report is due 30 days after the election, which falls on Thursday, May 3, 2012.  This period covers all activity from March 17, 2012 to April 23, 2012.   * If you incur no expenses and raise no money, you will still be obligated to sign the CPF M 102-0 report in the Office of the Town Clerk, 8 days before and 30 days after the election.  NOTE:  ALL 2012 candidates and ALL elected officers (except Town Meeting Members) are required to file the End of Year report regardless of whether or not they received contributions or spent money on their campaign.
